The Pop Up Penguins Learning Programme is a huge part of our project and gives children across the city a chance to take part in a public art trail that will be seen by thousands. In Term Three, 65 schools received a little penguin to design and decorate, and have been learning about penguin conservation, the Antarctica and kaitiakitanga for the environment.
All of these sculptures will be on display during the Pop Up Penguins trail, so trail followers can see the creative talents of our young people.
At the end of the trail, the little penguins will be returned back to their schools to keep forever.
