Georgette Thompson is a portrait and landscape artist based in Christchurch. Working in oils she creates realistic portraits that capture the essence of the subject, that twinkle in the eye or warmth in the smile. Her landscapes, often commissions, are portholes into sentimental places.
Drawn by the complexity and subtleties of the natural world she enjoys the challenge of realism while still allowing the romance of the brushwork to show through. Georgette was inspired to support local charities and launched a Native Bird Christmas card range donating to the South Island Wildlife Hospital located at Willowbank.
Georgette created the High Waters penguin.
